Sarah Planchart

Ms. Planchart is a Trial Attorney at Smith & Thompson, P.A., focusing primarily on insurance coverage litigation. Ms. Planchart earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Spanish from the University of South Florida. She received her Juris Doctor in 2018 from Florida Coastal School of Law, graduating cum laude.

During her tenure in law school, Ms. Planchart received four book awards for the highest overall grade in her class.

She served as Vice President of Florida Coastal’s student government. As an active Moot Court member, Ms. Planchart participated in four competitions, achieving first place at a national competition. Ms. Planchart earned her Business and Transactional Practice Certificate through the school’s Business Clinic, assisting local businesses with their legal needs.

When she is not fighting for her client’s rights, Ms. Planchart enjoys giving back to her community. She was the recipient of the Pro Bono Honors award, which recognizes a law student who is committed to providing outstanding pro bono service to the community and those in need.

Prior to joining Smith & Thompson, P.A., she served as a clerk for a Jacksonville law firm specializing in trial and appellate criminal defense. Ms. Planchart is admitted to practice in the State of Florida. She is an active member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. She is fluent in Spanish.
